Hermal chuckles, " Oh I'm plenty brave, I'm just too heavy to out run the beast if need be. Now we have the bait, next we need to come up with a plan. Old Garr, what areas of Imber does the beast attack?"

Old Garr coughed to get the attention of the squires "If brave Calum indeed desires to take on this risk, Imber will be eternally grateful. I will take you to where there have been more sightings than average, maybe we'll have some luck there". The old priest pushed the now empty plate away from him and stood up. "I will wait for you by the church, the sooner you are ready the sooner we can begin. Thank you for the breakfast, it warms an old heart to see such chivalry in these dark days" so saying he left the house, leaving the squires to finish breakfast.
A little while later Guy led the squires to the church, all clad in their hunting garb. Old Garr was waiting for them with the woman that had accompanied him the day before. At their approach the priest exclaimed joyously "Ah, you are ready" and approached them, walking right past Guy to Calum. Making the sign of the cross he muttered a few words in latin that Guy recognized as a prayer of good fortune for a brave sacrifice. Calum however waved the blessing hand away "I do not share your Christ-God priest, I would ask you to consider my ways before forcing yours on me" he said tensely. Old Garr was visibly taken aback by this and could only blink as the pagan squire moved past him. As the three other squires listened to this exchange they noticed that the young woman also gave it her attention. Guy could have sworn he saw her eyes flash as she heard that Calum followed the old ways, but she quickly masked her expression again. "So, umm, are you ready to move out?" Old Garr asked the hunting party

"You have mistaken the priest's intention, Calum. He never meant to force our faith on you, that was a simple prayer as a thanks to your bravery." Guy laid an arm on Calum's shoulder and corrected the situation to Calum, trying to save the priest from his shock. He turned to Garr after that, with a small bow. "Forgive him father, he is very straight with his words at times. He did not mean any disrespect. I believe we are ready to move. We should find a clearing in the forest near the area where we think the beast resides and set up our trap." Guy reviewed the plan. "Oh, and are there any brave young hunters that would be willing to help us? I had a thought that maybe we could get a pair of hunters in trees to confuse the beast with arrows prior to our charge?"

Hermel walks over to Calum and puts a hand on his shoulder, " Are you nervous, my friend?"

Calum shrugs "I'm not nervous, I'm offended that we're supposed to leave the old ways behind because some church we have never seen tells us to" the young pagan adjusted his sword belt and looked at Guy. "I'm ready, let's go"
The old priest followed the exchange between the squires with astonishment, but clearly chose not to agitate the situation any more than he already had. "Umm...no" he responed to Guy "Unfortunately the men are needed elsewhere today, but I can show you where to lay the trap if you will. My enthusiasm for the hunt is greater than my skill, but I do know where game is usually found and there's a clearing that may prove suitable for your needs"

"Very well. Everyone ready? Show us the way then father, we have a monster to kill." Guy said when he had gathered his gear for the hunt.
