A little back story to whet your appetite.
1969 - After a decade of deteriorating relations, the Sino-Soviet border conflict flares up
March 2nd - Chinese troops ambush Soviet border guards on Zhenbao island. 59 guards were killed, including a colonel, and 94 wounded.
March 15th - Chinese troops are driven from the island, suffering significant losses.
August 8th - Soviet diplomats and spy rings probe their contacts in Washington for the U.S's reaction in the event of a possible nuclear exchange between China and Soviet Union. The U.S response is unilaterally negative, with serious possibility of retaliation from NATO and the US.
September 11th - Soviet Prime Minister Kosygin, on his way from Ho Chi Minh's funeral, makes a brief stop in Beijing for high-level diplomatic talks. The negotiations face a dead end.
October 7th - Soviet air force strikes against Chinese nuclear facilities with conventional weapons. The Chinese respond with a tactical nuclear strike against Soviet military bases in Siberia. The nuclear exchange ceases.
October 10th, 22:18 - After lengthy discussions in the Politburo, the Soviet officials decide on a limited tactical nuclear response against Chinese nuclear facilities
October 10th, 23:00 - The Soviet warheads hit their targets. U.S and NATO forces decide to respond with limited nuclear strikes across the Iron Curtain.
October 10th, 23:05 - Soviet officials detect the launches by the Western powers. The Soviet Union responds with a massive retaliatory strike across all fronts: Over 10,000 warheads (half of the Soviet stockpile) are launched against targets in Europe, Asia and the U.S
October 10th, 23:08 - The Western powers and China respond. All remaining warheads launched against Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact countries.
October 10th, 23:59 - One minute to midnight. All warheads fired by all parties have hit their targets. Across the globe cities burn. Major population centers in Europe, North America, Soviet Union and China have been destroyed. Remaining civilian populace and military formations in total chaos.
October 11th - the First Day following Armageddon
2009 - Forty years after the end of the world, the dust has settled. Humanity lingers onward in the ashes of the old world. Our adventure begins...

Seems enough people are interested so I'll be making the first post of the RPG soon. If you need the rulebook, PM me or Luna and we'll send you a digital copy. Also, if you have questions regarding the rules, send a PM and I'll answer. Here's some background to help you get in the mood...
2009. After the 30 years of nuclear winter the dust has settled. The nuclear fallout in most areas is no longer an immediate threat. Settlements have risen all across the U.S, with people trying to survive against the harsh new conditions. Large previously fertile areas are now part of the Continental Dustbowl, an arid desert area spanning the from coast to coast.
Our adventure takes place in former Montana, now known as the Badlands. In the great desert a fairly large bartertown has emerged from the ashes. Known as Wellspring, it boasts one of the most important resources in the world: clean water from deep, underground reserves. Wellspring's population fluctuates around a thousand permanent residents, with 500 more temporary visitors at any given day. Traders, tribals, nomads and lone wolves all travel through the city on their way to parts unknown.
The town is run by Frank Hannigan and his band of former policemen, firefighters, soldiers and their sons and daughters from the days of the old world. Crime is not tolerated, with thieves and raiders getting hanged every day to maintain order. Disputes and arguments are more often than not settled with duels.
And whatever a person's motive to visit Wellspring, Hannigan has one rule by which all visitors must abide: if you are within the walls, you will defend them against all threats, with your life if necessary. If you do not agree, you will not be permitted to enter.
